1. Israel, George Khalil — Pray for problems with the land they have purchased to build an Emmaus Center on to be resolved.

2. Ethiopia, Wim Hoddenbaugh — Pray for them as they start translation of 24 courses in the Oromigna language, Ethiopia's second largest.

3. Cuba - Pray for follow up if courses taken in there last month, that we may see an Emmaus Center begun in Cuba.

4. Chile, Patricio Villaroel — Pray for Patricio as he assumes the work in Chile and basically starts from the beginning there.

From Ruby Campbell, Colombia — It's a joy to be able to update you on some recent activities and news for praise.

Oscar: was saved, baptized, an excellent correspondence course student and really grew spiritually while doing his prison term and then several months after his release, married a lovely Christian girl and now is the proud father of a delightful, chubby little daughter!

Juan Carlos: one of our star students who in 10 months completed with very good grades 67 Bible courses. He also was saved and baptized while deprived of his liberty and is desirous of serving the Lord. He was released July 23 and came out to our Prado assembly the following Sunday and he was delighted and said he'd learned many things through being there. He came to the office and we spent a profitable time as he told me encouraging news related to other inmates. He's just 24 yrs. old and is very gifted. Pray he'll be greatly used of the Lord to win others for God's glory.

Nothing, however, is as exciting as reading what they say in their test answers and letters. Recently one inmate wrote, “After I mail these exams, I am going home. Please continue to help me with my new decision to live my life for the Lord. These Bible courses have been my inspiration for changing my whole life. I was living for Satan and was a sinner who was lost until I got arrested and another inmate helped me get started with your courses. Then came my first reward — my new Bible. I love it. Thank you so much.” One that is my favorite is, “I have examined other religions. Judism still follows the law. Catholicism has many rituals and idols. Jehovah’s Witnesses do not believe in the deity of Jesus. Yet, they all claim to follow the Bible. This lesson has opened my eyes to the true gospel. This course has helped me see that Christ is all I need for salvation.”
